Supersonic UFO

The controversial four-second recording, which was allegedly filmed from a drone hovering over Silicon Valley on March 6th, has polarized opinions since being uploaded online.

The object, which moves at great speed towards the left, is very easy to miss as it zooms across the frame. The drone was located at a height of around 80m when the footage was taken and the person who uploaded it, YouTube user 1Darmino, maintains that he has no idea what it could be.

"The only thing I know for sure is that I did nothing that would cause this," he wrote. "You can analyze it better if you download the video in 4K and go frame by frame. Any ideas of what it might be ?"

Since appearing on the Internet the video has prompted a wide variety of suggested explanations including the possibility that it could be a viral hoax designed to promote the drone camera company..

Despite that the object still only appears as nothing more than a white blur giving some indication of its incredible speed.

Now when you hear the term 'UFO' it's easy to get caught up in the world of alien abductions and "Independence Day" style cloud formations.

The truth is 'UFO' simply means an object that we can't identify and as this video so aptly demonstrates, it can be the size of house or as small as a drone. Explanations have ranged from it being a fake to others suggesting that this is an as-yet unidentified species of supersonic bird. If we're honest we might actually prefer the bird theory to the alien one.
